Happy Valentine’s Day!
Whether your’e celebrating with your partner, girlfriends or on your own. Here are a few lavish and simple ways you can make this special day memorable. For some of us, Valentine’s Day is the day we want to feel like absolute princesses from a fairytale. Prince Charming arriving in a carriage and off to the ball! Many women appreciate flowers, chocolates, and other little(or not so little) gifts.
I know that everyone has their own preferences so I’ve come up with 4 ways that you can celebrate Valentine’s Day the Lavender way!!!!
FLOWERS
One thing everyone appreciates on V-Day is a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. Red roses are a classic timeless beauty. If you expect a nice rosey bunch of 12 or even a single rose, I suggest giving subtle hints to your partner if you’re not a fan of being outright. Red roses are the first choice of many as it is a symbol of love. Every rose is said to represent pure romance, passion and ultimate desire. There’s absolutely nothing better than the visual and olfactory satisfaction they bring. However there are other options to choose from if red just isn’t your colour. Other options include other rose colours, peonies, tulips and hyacinth.
If you prefer the more simple alternative, for flowers that can last the entire month then artificial flowers are the way to go. They are much more affordable and with the right set of arrangement you can pull of the natural look. I personally love this alternative! One thing is for certain they are not as high maintenance as the real thing. HERE are some beautiful artificial arrangements.
COUPLES GETAWAY
Ah I can picture it now, a romantic getaway for two, or even one, in a serene atmosphere accompanied by soft sand and warm water. The ever-exemplary Couples Getaway. Grab a suitcase and head on over to the airport to fly away to a romantic paradise. It’s always a treat to travel, especially on a romantic escape. No need to over pack. Carry a few pretty pieces and sit back and relax!
And as always if you prefer a simple alternative, there’s always the Staycation. This is the easiest way to getaway from your everyday by choosing somewhere nearby. It can be as easy as taking a drive to a small town you’d like to visit just outside of your familiar realm. Or perhaps you always wanted to stay at a certain hotel in town, but never had a reason to. Now you do! So make that reservation and explore the city. Valentine’s week is the perfect time to do things you’ve always wanted but never had a real reason to.
DINNER
Honey I made us reservations for 7pm!!!! Get out your beautiful red dress and put on those cute high heels. This is definitely a favourite of many. Who doesn’t love being served a delicious meal on a special day. Imagine a juicy steak cooked to perfection and paired with all the fixings. Those perfectly buttered potatoes, seasoned veggies and a 9oz glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Yummm…I can taste it now! And if you actually want to, then head out for a nice date night at a dim lit restaurant with your partner or friends.
This is the time to show off your cooking skills if you haven’t done so already. Pick a nice recipe and throw on that cute apron because cooking a delicious meal in itself is quite romantic. This can be done for yourself or with others and at the end you’ve had a great time and will have an even better time having those flavours melt in your mouth. You can prepare your favourite restaurant meal at home or even try something completely new. A home cooked meal will always be comforting.
GIFTS
The gift exchange is one of my favourites. A shopping date is definitely every woman’s idea of fun. Shoes, clothes, jewelry and another handbag in the same style but different colour can be the most dreamiest of gifts. For a shopaholic like myself, it’s always a pleasure to receive a nice gift. But gifts don’t always have to be bought from a store. You can even create them yourself through DIYs or simple experiences. Finding the perfect valentines gift can be quite a task sometimes, especially if your partner is a picky one. No, no, maybe, uhhhh yes! Rule of thumb is to always go for something that you know they can appreciate, need, or want.
Love,
Lavender
